Larry Leon Haines, 65, of Elizabethtown, (formerly of Lovett Township) passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Greenwood.
Born February 22, 1943 in Jennings County, he was the son of Everett Leon Haines and Bernita Brougher Haines Ruddick. His father preceded him in death. He married Roseann Ferguson on September 18, 2004, she survives.
Mr. Haines was a 1961 graduate of North Vernon High School. He had been a dairy farmer for 35 years, and was currently employed by Biehle electric where he worked in the shipping and receiving department. Mr. Haines was a 35 year member of the American Milk Producers, the Masonic Lodge #412 in Hayden, and Clowns for Christ. He attended the Westport Christian Church and enjoyed farming, fishing, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren and clowning.
Mr. Haines is survived by his wife, Roseann Haines of Elizabethtown, his mother, Bernita Ruddick of Hayden, children, Lisa Haines of Columbus, Gary Haines of Crothersville, Chris (Tanya) Fenner of Indianapolis, Tony Belefsky, Kelly (Rob) Morse, and Noel Watson, six grandchildren; Samuel Barrett Fenner, Michael Garrison Haines, Ashley and Holly Morse, Derek Belefsky, and Dakota McMahon, a sister, Linda Beehler of Fishers, a his mother-in-law, Helen Grubor of Brookston, IN.
Mr. Haines was preceded in death by his father, Everett Leon Haines, his first wife, Kathie Haines in 1975, a second wife, Norma Sue Haines in 1998, and a brother, Lloyd Wayne Haines.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Friday, November 7, 2008 at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Barlett officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 to 8 PM, at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7 PM.
