L. Scott "Zeep" Fewell, 66, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon.  Chad Fewell will present the eulogy. Visitation will be from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th at the funeral home.

Born July 15, 1950, in Seymour, Scott was the son of the late Bobby L. and Helen M. Bannister Fewell.  He graduated from North Vernon High School in 1968.  Scott married Boni Hines on October 13, 1970. She survives.

Scott was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He had worked 42 years as an engineer for B & O and CSX Railroads.  He was also an avid bird hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, Scott is survived by three sons, Jon Fewell of Costa Rica, Robert Fewell of Bloomington and Chad (Bethany) Fewell of North Vernon; one daughter, Sarah Samulak of Bloomington; and five grandsons, Jacob Dunn, Sylas Fewell Shafer, Samuel, Nathan and Nicholas Fewell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Helen Fewell.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
