Kyla Merri Ortlieb, 21, of North Vernon, passed away tragically on Sunday, October 20, 2019, in Columbus.

There will be a visitation held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service.

Born December 8, 1997, in Columbus, Kyla was the daughter of Joe and Merri (French) Ortlieb. They both survive.

Kyla graduated high school from Jennings County in 2016. She played volleyball, basketball, and ran track. Kyla loved outdoor activities such as walking and riding a bicycle. She enjoyed and loved animals. What Kyla was most passionate about was Art, she was very artistic and especially loved culinary art and painting. Though her current job was with Papa Johns in Columbus, her goal was to be an Artist.

In addition to her parents, Joe and Merri Ortlieb of North Vernon, survivors include brother, Zane Ortlieb of North Vernon; grandmother, Sue Janes of Columbus.

Kyla was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Ortlieb, Orin L. French, Janice Wyoma French, and Bill Janes.
