Mr. Kent L. Cardinal

January 11, 1958 - November 14, 2010

Kent Louis Cardinal, 52, of North Vernon passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at his home.

Born January 11, 1958, in Seymour, In. he was the son of the late Paul and Agnes Elsner Cardinal. He married Karen Todd on March 7, 1987. She survives.

He owned Cardinal Insurance where he was an insurance agent since 1985. He was a 1976 graduate of Jennings County High School. He graduated from Indiana University in 1980 with a B.S. in Business Management and Business Administration. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Lodge, and Moose Lodge. He supported many local organizations. He enjoyed hunting, playing golf, and swimming, outdoor activities and was an avid fan of the Andy Griffith Show.

He is survived by his wife, Karen and four children, Josh, Kelsi, Jon and Jackson of North Vernon; a brother Mike Cardinal of Kennesaw of Georgia, Pat, Greg and Jude Cardinal all of North Vernon; a sister, Paulette Alquist of Ohio, and one grandson, Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon with Father Jonathan Meyer officiating on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home. A rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m.
