Mr. Kenneth W. Burton

February 19, 1925 - September 19, 2008

Kenneth W. Burton, 83, of Scipio passed away at 7:00 AM Friday, September 19, 2008 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born February 19, 1925 in Bedford, Kenneth was the son of the late Lewis Edward and Gladys Kern Burton.

Mr. Burton had served in the United States Air Force where he retired after 21 years. He later worked for Cosco for 25 years and J.A. Hart & Co. for 15 years before retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Columbus Moose Lodge and had joined the VFW post of Sarasota, Florida while living there for 27 years.

Kenneth is survived by three sons, Kenneth "Dale" Burton of Live Oak, FL, Michael (Donna) Eugene Burton of Brentwood, TN, and James (Karen) Rickie "Zig" Burton of Columbus, a daughter, Taresa (Sam) Harpring of Scipio, a sister, Gayle "Terry" Newby of New Mexico, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Pauline Barker and Mary Wilber Everroad, a brother, Dale Edward Burton, and a sister, Helen Bruce.
