Katherine Amburgey, 79, of Scipio, passed away at 8:16 p.m., on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Crossroads Community Church. Rev. Tracy McIntire will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 2, 2024, and again from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service all at the church. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.
Born on December 10, 1944, in Premium, KY, Katherine was the loving daughter of Delzie and Subrina (Riddle) Caudill. She was united in marriage to Enos Amburgey on February 22, 1965. He survives.
Katherine had worked several jobs throughout the years as a bank teller, substitute teacher, and at Kelley's Florist. She also volunteered at the Jennings County Historical Society. Katherine was a faithful member of the Crossroads Community Church where she was very involved serving the Lord by working with the youth group and founding the church kitchen committee. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and canning in her spare time. Most of all, Katherine cherished spending time with her family making memories.
In addition to her husband, Enos Amburgey of Scipio, survivors include son, Enos Amburgey Jr. of Brewersville; daughter, Rebecca (Jordan) Ude of Carmel; sisters, Lorene Butski of Flat Rock, MI, Brenda McGlamary of Premium, KY, and Jean Smith of Premium, KY; grandchildren, Katrina Diane (Kasey) Holley, and Benjamin Robert Amburgey; great grandchildren, Kaden Plaster, Izabella Holley, Alexandra Plaster, and Kamden Holley.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Delzie and Subrina Caudill; sister, Glenda New; brothers, Vernon, Verl, and Terry Caudill.
Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the Crossroads Community Church or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
