Judith Kaye Read, 87, of North Vernon passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her home. Interim Hospice had provided her with excellent care for the last three months of her life.

Born October 22, 1938, in Columbus, Judy was the daughter of Arthur and Ethel Sanders Warner. She married Charles E. Read on May 4, 1956. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1996.

Judy worked for Kraft Foods for many years. She also worked for Eckrich Foods, Mariah Packing, and Cummins, Inc. She enjoyed bowling with her husband in her early years. In her later years she spent time working crossword puzzles and Sudoku. She dearly loved talking to her niece, Toni Pittman on the telephone and watching the Gameshow Channel.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Denise L. Adriance of Mesa, and Sonya R. Nottingham of North Vernon; son, Todd E. (Betty) Read of North Vernon; grandchildren, Stephanie Grant, Robert Mullins, Chris Greene, and Tabitha Burnett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Helen Pittman Davidson, brothers, Ed and Bud Warner, and grandson, CJ Mullins.

No services are scheduled. Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made in Judy's memory to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
