Juanita M. O'Mara Mock, 95, of North Vernon passed away at 11:08 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2015, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.
Born October 9, 1919 in Jennings County, she was the daughter of Roy and Vivian Barnum Campbell. She married Leo O'Mara. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1969. She then married Charles R. Mock on June 26, 1970. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2009.
Juanita worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center as a housekeeping supervisor and retired after twenty years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and was a lifelong Democrat.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Nancy)O'Mara of Columbus, and David (Nancy) O'Mara of North Vernon; one daughter, Rosemary (Denny) Shaw of North Vernon; grandchildren, Susan Brown of North Vernon, Mark (Jeanie) O'Mara of Seymour, Barb Lockhart of Muncie, Mary (Bart) Stuckwisch of Seymour, Kevin O'Mara of North Vernon, Karie (Jon) Bone of Ft. Wayne, Debbie Shaw, and Mike (Kim) Shaw of North Vernon, Janet (Tim) McCoy of Liberty Township, Amy (Ron) Boswell, Dan (Pat) O'Mara, and Rob (Caroline) O'Mara of North Vernon; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; and one stepson, Doug (Amy) Mock of Taylorsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; brother, Oliver Campbell; son, Jim O'Mara; grandson, Tom O'Mara; great-granddaughter, Morgan Wright.
Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jerry Byrd, Rev. Michael O'Mara, and Rev. Denny O'Mara will officiate. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations Information
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
