Juanita Combs, 87, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Dale Boyd will be officiating. Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the funeral home.

Born on April 13, 1936, in Perry County, Kentucky, Juanita was the loving daughter of William "Willie" and Judy (Adams) Young. She was united in marriage to Arthur Combs. He preceded her in death in January of 1988.

Juanita had worked for 20 years at B&H Hardware in Dupont and then retired in 2000 after 23 years with Regal Rugs. She enjoyed going to yard sales, raising and caring for flower gardens, and cooking. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Left to cherish Juanita's memory are sons, Kelly (Carla) Combs, and Stanly Combs all of North Vernon; daughter, Judy Gilbert of North Vernon; grandchildren, Mandy (Cory) Rickley of North Vernon, Dana (Ken) Hawkins of Seymour, Zach (Shawn) Combs of Henryville, Hannah Combs of Dupont, and Ali Combs of North Vernon; great grandchildren, Ava Club, Lily Rickley, and Avery Combs; brothers, Pete Young, Jim Young both of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Judy Young; stepmother, Mary Webster Young; husband, Arthur Combs; sisters, Verda Keen, and Helen Cumnings; brothers, Edward Young, Robert Young, and James Young; grandson, Ben Combs.
