Mrs. Juanita Allen

May 24, 1917 - March 10, 2011

Juanita Allen, 93, of North Vernon passed away at 12:24 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Hospice of South Central Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Born in Derby, IN, May 24, 1917, Juanita was the daughter of Cortland & Ollie Nichalson Ramsey. She married Roy Donald Allen December 13, 1933. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1999.
Ms. Allen was an Avon sales representative for 44 years. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and was an avid camper. Juanita was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #183 and was a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. She was also a past mother advisor for the order of rainbow girls.
She is survived by a son Bill (Neva) Allen of Paducah, KY; three daughters, Donna (Victor) Hancock of Salem, Ronita (Ray) Knarr of North Vernon and Nancy (Steve) Low of Columbus; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Roy D. Allen Jr. and a brother Raymond Ramsey.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home with Rev's Anthony Sweeney and Kendal Wildey officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday with an Eastern Star service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
