Obituary

Joyce F. Sweet, 88, of Madison, formerly of Butlerville passed away on May 17, 2026, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.

Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & cremation Service has been entrusted with the arrangements. There will be a private Celebration of Life with family and close friends at a later date.

Born in London KY, on December 17, 1937, Joyce was the daughter of Lindsey Herbert and Carrie Cadell Wilson.

Joyce worked for Reliance Electric for over thirty years before retiring.

She loved having fun. She went dancing and to the casino with her companion, Bob Willhite. They traveled around following her favorite band, The Smokin Jokers. She adored flowers, especially petunias. Joyce would never leave home without just the right outfit, makeup, and jewelry. She wanted to look good everywhere she went.

She was from a large family that she enjoyed spending time with. She made a famous banana pudding, and a Jello dish that everyone looked forward to eating at family get togethers. Her favorite restaurants were Cracker Barrel, and 88 Kings. She always said she loved feeling free.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Paula Judy of Madison; son, Mark (Lenora) Judy of North Vernon; brothers, Dwayne Wilson of North Vernon, Kenny Wilson of North Vernon, Jimmy Wilson of Elizabethtown, and David Wilson of Columbus; sisters, Janice McNutt of Carmel, Phyllis Carney of North Vernon, Linda Vance of North Vernon, Mary Wilson Helm of FL, Diane Kirby of Las Vegas, NV, and Wilma Quick of Columbus; grandchildren, Sarah (Chris Watson) Judy of Madison, Jonathan (Renee) Garlinghouse of Madison, Bryan Judy of North Vernon, Allen Judy of Seymour, and Chasity (Linzi Bogle) Hessig of Seymour; great-grandchildren, Titus and Henrik Garlinghouse, and Lyra, Rylee, and Klaire Hessig; companion, Bob Willhite.
