IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Patrick
Sullivan
May 1, 1980 – October 14, 2017
Joseph Patrick Sullivan found eternal peace on October 14, 2017. He was born in Seymour, Indiana on May 1, 1980 and was raised in North Vernon, Indiana. He was a graduate of St. Mary Grade School, Jennings County High School, and Indiana University—where he earned a B.S. in geology. He also attended graduate school at Temple University. After he graduated from college, he lived and worked in a number of places—including Texas, California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Joseph was an amazingly talented, gifted individual. He excelled in school, music, and sports. Unfortunately, at age 17, he suffered a severe brain injury, and his life was never the same afterwards. He struggled with many demons, and ultimately, he was unable to escape them.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Sullivan of North Vernon; his siblings, Jennifer (Peter) Castelli of Inverness, IL, James Sullivan, III of Miami, FL and Sarah (Carlos) Zaragoza of Roanoke, VA ; and four nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, James Sullivan, Jr.
Services for Joseph will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen (2081 E County Rd 820 S, Greensburg, Indiana). Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 am on Friday, November 10, 2017 and the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to braintrauma.org. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
