Joseph Burgmeier, 72, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:13 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Deacon Larry French will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at the funeral home.

Born on June 16, 1951, in North Vernon, Joe was the loving son of Laurence and Margaret (Lafferty) Burgmeier. They preceded her in death.

Joe enjoyed trapping, fishing, gardening, and watching westerns.

Left to cherish Joe's memory is his son, Troy (Scarlett) Burgmeier of Deputy; daughter, LeAnne Burgmeier of Columbus; brother, Laurence "Jay" (Sharon) Burgmeier of Hayden; sisters, Peg Scroggins, Helena Miles, and Ellen Burgmeier all od North Vernon, Ann (Jack) Williams of Hayden; grandchildren, Keegan, Kaemon, and Kyan Jiles; Tyler, and Laiten Burgmeier, and Tessa Walker; 6 great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Margaret Burgmeier; sisters, Rita Luedeman, and Teresa Wilson.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the Hayden Historical Museum.
