Mr. Johnny Ray Watkins

Johnny Ray Watkins, 48, of North Vernon passed away at 11:10 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at his residence.

Born September 10, 1965 in Columbus, Johnny was the son of the late John Andrew Watkins and Etta Mae (Branum) Watkins. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Watkins, and sister, Shirley Campfield. Johnny Ray enjoyed spending time outdoors; hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed watching nascar; playing horseshoes, and cornhole.

He is survived by his companion, Rhonda Westrick; his children, Dustin Watkins, Melissa Watkins, and Cody Westrick; siblings, Everett Watkins (Patty), David Watkins (Shirley), Peggy Stewart (Robert), Fred Watkins (Rickie), Edward James Watkins (Sharon), Donna Perkinson (Ron), Cathy Andry, and Glenna Lilly (Larry); grandchildren, Natalie, Steven, Caleb, Braxton, and Easton.

A time of visitation will be at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home from 10 AM to 12 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2014 with a graveside service to follow at Cave Spring Cemetery.
