John W. Schroeder

John W. Schroeder, 70, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 2:25 a.m. at his home.

He was born November 3, 1939 in Greensburg, Indiana. He was the son of the late Edward J. and Pansy Louise Meyers Schroeder. He attended Greensburg High School.

Mr. Schroeder was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He worked for Rexall Drugs, Common Wealth Life Insurance, and owned and operated Schroeder and Sons Incorporated.

He married Ruth Marie Stille on June 7, 1958. She survives. Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Jenny Broome of Carmel, In., five sons, Doug (Sheri) Schroeder, Jeff (Tamika) Schroeder, John D. Schroeder, and Greg Schroeder all of North Vernon, In., and Brian (Lori) Schroeder of Paris Crossing, In, one sister, Patricia Hill of Indianapolis, In. and a brother Donald Schroeder of Greensburg, In. Surviving also are 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edward Joseph Schroeder and Robert Dale Schroeder and one sister, Mary Parsons.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Jonathan Meyer will be officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
