John was born on October 25, 1940, in North Vernon, the son of Richard F. and Mary LaFara Hanna, where he spent his life surrounded by family and friends. John was also a talented carpenter who built homes, leaving his mark on the landscape of North Vernon. He even ran his own business, Hanna's Herbs Everlasting, showcasing his passion for gardening and natural remedies.
John was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years, and in his later life, he attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Four Corners.
