Mr. John Rodney Beal

December 25, 1950 - March 29, 2014

Rodney Beal, 63, of North Vernon passed away at 8:48 am on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at his residence.

Born, December 25, 1950, in Seymour, Rodney was the son of the late John and Nancy Hill Beal. He later married Janie Leckermeyer on July 28, 1974, in North Vernon. Mr. Beal served his country in the United States Navy in Spain. After which, he became employed with the United States Postal Service.

Rodney was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed playing cards, coaching soccer, and watching his children and grandchildren play soccer.

He is survived by, his wife, Janie Beal, two sons, Jesse (Krista) Beal and Ryan (Christina) Beal, a daughter, Nicole (Zach) Randall, four grandchildren, Keegan, Kassidy, Adin, and Dezmond Beal all of North Vernon, and three brothers, Mike and Kevin Beal of North Vernon and Larry Beal of Seymour.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy Beal and two grandchildren, Matthew and Owen Randall.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service of North Vernon with Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday evening and from noon until the time of the service on Wednesday. Military graveside honors will be provided by the United States Navy and VFW Post 2021. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.
