John Paul Ackerman, 37, of Midland, TX, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Midland Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.  Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Born May 20, 1980, in Columbus, IN, Johnny was the son of Gary Singleton and Laura (Hendricks) Heaton.  He worked on oil rigs for RimRock Services in Midland, TX.  He was a member of IGRLA in Illinois and a Friend of Bill W.

Johnny is survived by his mother, Laura Heaton of Fishers; a sister, Amanda Ackerman of Fishers; his grandmother, Marie Carnahan of Sardinia; his grandfather, Otto Hendricks of Scipio; his former partner, Kent Allison of Indianapolis and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
