Jody S. Ebinger, 73 of North Vernon passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will follow from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Born on April 9, 1952, in Seymour, Jody was the daughter of Joseph and Eloise Clendenning Hester. She worked for over forty years as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Emergency Department at St. Vincent - Jennings Hospital. After retiring she started working at Irish Hill Liquor Store where she was currently employed. Jody was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was involved in various activities. She always looked forward to her hour of prayer in the Adoration Chapel every week. She cherished spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren play sports, and vacationing. She is survived by her children, Amy (Scott) Newkirk, Chad (Nicki) Ebinger, Todd (Abby) Ebinger, and Annie (Mitch) Roehrig of North Vernon; sisters, Jan (Tom) Matern, and Jeanie (Andy) Kirchner of North Vernon, brothers, Ed (Robin) Hester of Spartanburg, SC, and John (Mary Ann) Hester of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Chance (Lexi) Newkirk, Mackenzie Newkirk, Kaylee, Ellie, Kenyan, Finn, and Knox Ebinger, Calli Sizemore, Cooper and Carter Roehrig. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eloise Hester. Memorials may be made in Jody's memory to Autism Speaks or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
