Joann Marie (Wickens) Anglin,  78, of North Vernon, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016, at Premier Healthcare of North Vernon.

Born August 15, 1938, in Jennings County, Joann was the daughter of Barney Wickens and Velma (Campbell) Wickens.  She attended St. Mary's School, and graduated from North Vernon High School in 1956. She married Gerald Dean Anglin on August 8, 1959, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2010.

Joann had been employed as secretary to the executive of Indiana State Highway Department for several years. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was also a member of Eagles Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo at St. Mary's and other locations,  bowling league for many years, gardening, canning, cooking and spending time with her daughter, granddaughter and great-grandchildren. She was a fan of IU sports and NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon.

Survivors include daughter, Deborah S. Anglin of North Vernon; granddaughter, Stephanie (Andy) Ebbing of North Vernon; brother, Jack (Reda) Wickens of North Vernon; sister, Linda Vawter of Columbus; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Allison and Nicholas Ebbing; and many nieces and nephews.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Jeffrey S. Anglin.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the family for expenses or to St. Mary's Catholic School.
