Jesse Shepherd

Jesse Shepherd, 73, of North Vernon, passed away on March 1, 2011, at Heritage House in Greensburg.
Born October 18, 1937 in Delphi, KY, Jesse was the son of William and Mary Jane Bush Shepherd. He married Nadine Cheryl Beach in August 1969 in Vernon. She survives.
Mr. Shepherd was employed by Arvin's for 19 years, the later by Toyota, where he retired in 2000. He was a member of North Vernon Masonic Lodge 59 and Bass Angler Sportsman Society. He enjoyed fishing, horses, hummingbirds, being outside, bowling and CB radios. He dearly loved his grandkids and friends at McDonalds.
In addition to his wife, Cheryl, he is survived by one son, Jesse (Nicole) Shepherd and one daughter, Jamey (Shannon) Marksberry, all of North Vernon; grandchildren Traven and MaKayla Marksberry, Chasity, Katrina and Sara Shepherd; three brothers, Winford, Buster and Ray Shepherd; and two sisters, Margie Mayes and Elva Sleeth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Marcum Shepherd and two infant brothers, Willie and Marvin Shepherd.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon, with Brother Michael Yates officiating. Interment will be at Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
