Jerry Lynn Miller, 76, of Austin, formerly of North Vernon, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at his home.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Military Rites will be conducted at 6:00pm. Inurnmnet will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN at a later date.
Born December 15, 1949, in Seymour, Jerry was the son of Cornelius "Jiggs" and Mary Ellen Klakamp Miller.
Jerry graduated from Seymour High School in 1967. He enlisted in the United States Army on June 28, 1968, and served until May 14, 1975. While in the Army he served in Vietnam where he was a tank commander.
Jerry was a woodworker and a mechanic, known to hoard tools so he could complete every project that came to mind. He loved telling stories and reading conspiracy novels. He had great interest in WWII history.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Glenna Walker of Seymour; nephews, Steven Wills of Austin, and Christopher Walker of Seymour; Nieces, Monica Wills of Austin, and Angie (Tim) Lee of Vernon; several great-nieces and nephews; and his dog, Buddy.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jiggs and Mary Ellen Miller; sister, Karen Wills; brothers, Mike and Tony Miller.
Jerry will be deeply missed by all who loved him, especially his dog, Buddy.
Memorials may be made in Jerry's memory to his family.
