Janetta Bush, 97, of Columbus, formerly of North Vernon passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Keepsake Village.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Scott Hyden and Pastor Brad Hyden will officiate. Interment will be in Butlerville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.

Born June 12, 1926, in Butlerville, Janetta was the daughter of Lewis E. and Jennie E. Woolman Brougher. She married Kenneth Bush on November 21, 1975. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1979.

Janetta worked for almost thirty years in the payroll department at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. She was a charter member of Christ's Way Christian Church. She was a member of the St. Vincent – Jennings Hospital Guild and Smiling Seniors. She was active with the American Cancer Society for seven years serving as president of the local group for three years. She enjoyed being with friends and family, music, comedy, crafts, puzzles, and raising African Violets.

Survivors include son, Wesley (Ladonna) Hyden of Frankfort, IN; daughters in law, Nettie Hyden-Malcomb and Rita Hyden; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.

Janetta was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Jennie Brougher; husband, Kenneth Bush; sons, Phillip and Clyde Hyden; brother, Lloyd Brougher; sisters, Clara Mae Haines and Betty Ellercamp.
