Mrs. Janet Hope Proctor

May 19, 1924 - July 17, 2009

Janet Hope Proctor, 85, of North Vernon, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009 at 6:50 AM at Jennings Health Care Center.

Born May 19, 1924 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Saylor and Esty Lingle Jodon and the adopted daughter of Harry and Roxanne Wheaton. She later married Franklin Earl Proctor on March 17, 1942.

Mrs. Proctor had been a supervisor at Muscatatuck Developmental Center. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, books, television, puzzles and flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Shepherd of Dupont, three sons, Ron (Patricia) Proctor of Fort Wayne and David and Daniel Proctor of North Vernon, a sister Faith Hensley, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Frances Bailey.

Funeral Information

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Sawyer ~ Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon with Rev. Dan Denny officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM and on Monday from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery.
