Janet Sue Anderson, 59, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at her home, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Mrs. Anderson was born Janet Sue Corder in Beech Grove, IN, on October 23, 1954, to W. Frank Corder and Shirley Martin. She graduated in 1973 from Northwest High School in Indianapolis.
On September 9, 1988, she married Tim Anderson. On August 1, 1991, she and Tim welcomed twin daughters into their family. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and twin daughters.
Janet was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and actively read God's Word. She enjoyed reading and her family. She also enjoyed watching her children play sports, and watching sports with her husband. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and felt immensely blessed. She worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center and Madison State Hospital for the past 28 years.
Janet is survived by her husband of 25 years, Tim; twin daughters, Lindsay (Grant) Gibson and Megan (Shawn) Duff, both of North Vernon; two sisters, Marsha Sensel of Blue Ridge, TX, and Terri Schlacter, of Dayton, WA; brother, John Corder, of Berryville, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Martin in 1993, and her father, W. Frank Corder in 1982.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Ricky Persons will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
