Mr. James "Jim" Taylor Coldiron
March 21, 1933 - October 22, 2009
James "Jim" Taylor Coldiron, 76, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:10 p.m. at Schneck Medical Center of Seymour.
Born March 21, 1933 in Wilhurst, KY., he was the son of the late James Monroe and Sarah Bell Trent Coldiron.
Mr. Coldiron was a member of the United States Air Force for 13 years and was employed by Cummins Engine Company for 30 years. He was a life member of the VFW and the Moose for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his Honda Gold Wing.
He is survived by his daughters, Sarah (Jim) Goldson of Burnside, KY., Bonnie (Bill) Lane of Madison and his son, James (Beverly) Coldiron of Scipio, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and his companion of 20 years, Marta Fox of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Laverne Steele, Lura Coldiron and Hazel Coldiron and a brother Franklin Coldiron.
Memorials may be made in care of the funeral home to the family.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home. Rev. Don Morris will officiate. Burial will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh with Military Honors given by United States Air Force. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home.
