Mr. James R. Sullivan Jr.

April 12, 1946 - August 30, 2008

James R. Sullivan Jr., 62, of North Vernon passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. James also graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Accounting and a Certified Public Accountant certificate. He served in the United States Army from June 1966 to May 1969. He was a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association, and was a avid Indianapolis Colts, and IU basketball & football fan.

Mr. Sullivan was born April 12, 1946 in Indianapolis, the son of James R. and Joan Durkin Sullivan Sr. He married Mary Ann Schoettmer January 24, 1970. She survives.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Sullivan of North Vernon; sons, James Sullivan of Fairbanks, AK, and Joseph Sullivan of Baltimore, VA; daughters, Jennifer Castelli of Decatur, IL and Sally Zaragoza of Roanoke, MD; one brother, John Sullivan of Indianapolis; sisters, Mary Alice Farrell of Blue Springs, MO, and Pattie Nietch of South Bend, and four grandchildren, Mary Ann, Katie, Jack, and Libbey Castelli. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Marie Peirce.

Funeral Information

A funeral mass will be conducted Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Hayden. The Rev. Jonathon Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 7pm. Burial and military graveside rites will be conducted at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Millhousen.
