Mr. James R. Hamilton

April 18, 1925 - October 31, 2009

James Richard Hamilton, 84 of North Vernon went on to be with the Lord at 10:30 pm on Saturday October, 31, 2009 at Jennings Healthcare Center.

Born on April 18, 1925 in Rushville, James was the son of the late James E. and Violet Jones-Carr Hamilton. He served his country during World War II in the United States Marines from 1943 to 1946. Upon returning he married Doris Coffin on February 14, 1948. She survives.

Mr. Hamilton had been employed with General Motors for over thirty years. He loved woodworking, cats, and most of all, his family.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Hamilton of North Vernon; two sons, David and James Kelly Hamilton both of North Vernon; a daughter, Patricia (Samuel) McCune of Anderson; three grandchildren, Shanon (Lisa) Donnelly, Casey (Krystal) Donnelly, and Rachael (Spence) Hinton; and a great-granddaughter, Rosa Donnelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation is planned with no services.
