James E. Forbes

February 24, 1940 - August 22, 2015

James E. Forbes, 75, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Kindred Hospital South in Greenwood.

Born February 24, 1940, in Berea, KY, James was the son of the late Joseph and Geneva (Kendrick) Forbes. On September 16, 1977, he married Wilma Coker. She survives.

James retired from the State Highway Department, where he was employed as an inspector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and family gatherings.

In addition to his wife, Wilma, James is survived by a son, James Forbes, Jr., of Seymour; daughter, Karen Moore of Seymour; stepdaughter, Linda Everroad of North Vernon; stepson, Kevin Kosemeyer of CA; brothers, Willie Clayton Forbes, Robert Dean Forbes, and Davy Joe Forbes; sisters, Mary Alice Brown, Wanda Jean Melton, and Juanita Marie Cox; nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Richard Fields; brothers, Kenneth, Alfred, and Kenneth Wayne Forbes; one sister, Hazel Lorene Matthews.

Funeral Information

A graveside service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015, at Uniontown Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Tim Poer will officiate.
