James Robert "Bob" Coffman, 83, of North Vernon passed away at 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Covered Bridge Health Campus.
A Masonic Service will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. A Funeral Service will immediately follow. Rev. Braden Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.
Born October 21, 1941, in North Vernon, Bob was the son of James Henry and Clara Dee Fritsche Coffman Kirsch. He married Saundra Kay Moore on June 2, 1962, in North Vernon. They had just celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary.
Bob graduated from North Vernon High School in 1959. He retired from Cummins, Inc. in 1996 after working thirty-five years.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church since 1957, and Masonic Lodge #59 for fifty-nine years. Bob always looked forward to helping organize his class reunions. Along with Cummins, Inc., he had worked at the Just-Rite Supermarket as a meat cutter, and J&J Striping painting stripes on parking lots. He was a perfectionist in all things he did. He took great pride in keeping his yard and flowers the envy of his friends and neighbors. His black vehicles were always detailed to perfection.
Bob is survived by his wife, Saundra Coffman of North Vernon; daughter, Susan (Greg) Streit of Columbus; sister, Ruth Reitman of North Vernon; grandchildren, Alisha (Eliot) Kirkpatrick of New Palestine, Nick Streit of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Riley Marie & Leah Nicole Kirkpatrick of New Palestine; nine nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew, David Johnson, and great-nephew, Eric Cribb.
Memorials may be made in Bob's memory to Masonic Lodge #59, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
