Jack Modlin, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Phillip Elliott will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Vernon Cemetery. There will be a visitation held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the funeral home.

Born on September 23, 1936, in Anderson. Jack was the son of the late Delray and Georgia (Farlow) Modlin.

Jack was a member of the Moose Lodge, Am Vets, VFW Post 2021, American Legion, and Eagles. Being a mechanic, he enjoyed working and fixing things over the years.

Jack is survived by daughter, Melissa Leonard of North Vernon; sister, Saundra Bobbitt of Valdosta, GA; grandchild, Josh (Melissa) Leonard; great grandchild, Lennon Leonard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delray and Georgia Modlin; sisters, Rosemary Schrieder, Betty Lou Van Blaricum, and Georgina Modlin.
