Obituary

Jack Lee Blevins, 88, of North Vernon passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Four Corners. Fr. Chris Craig will officiate. Jack will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A Rosary Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Born July 13, 1937, in Seymour, Jack was the son of John Kenneth and Dorothy Roberts Blevins. He married Diane C. Meranda on June 16, 1956. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2013. On January 2, 2015, Jack and Therese M. Sorg Brennan were married. She survives.

Jack worked many jobs over the years. When he was young, he delivered coal to homes and businesses all over Jennings County and in Seymour. He worked at Federal Mogul in Carrolton, KY, Cummins, Inc. for over twenty years, and retired from NTN-BCA in Greensburg. He also farmed, raising cattle and pigs.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. After he married Therese, they attended St. Mary's Catholic Church mostly. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph's.

Jack enjoyed square dancing, playing euchre, fishing, steel board shoots, going to auctions, and scraping with his boys.

He is survived by his wife, Therese; his and Diane's sons, Larry and his wife Becky Blevins, Joe Blevins, and Jim and his wife Brandy Blevins; daughters, Mary and her husband Jeff Meece, and Barbara and her husband Kenny Harris; half-sister, Susie Arnetta Deaton; daughter-in-law, Kim Blevins; sister-in-law, Dot Blevins; grandchildren, Miranda and husband Luke Clark, Kaitlyn Blevins, Andy and wife Saranda Blevins, Amy and husband Ryan Loudermilch, Owen Grider, Alicia and husband Matt Barbour, Jeffery A. and Morgan Jones Meece, Michael and wife Monica Harris, Danny Harris, Aaron and wife Marly Blevins, Adam and wife Cheyenne Blevins, and Jackie and Logan Owens Blevins; nine great-grandchildren. Jack is also survived by his stepchildren and their families which he loved like his own. They are Randy and his wife Trish Brennan, Bernard and his wife Deb Joann Brennan, Bill Brennan, Jeff and his wife Fa Brennan, Debra Jean and Mike Nolan, Phillip Brennan, and Louis and his wife Marycel Brennan; nineteen step-grandchildren, and one step great-great granddaughter.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John Kenneth and Dorothy Blevins; wife, Diane C. Blevins; son, Ed Blevins; brother, Bob Blevins; half-sisters, Lois Brewer, and Bernice Bowman; stepdaughter, Christina Putnam; one step granddaughter, and one step grandson.

Memorials may be made in Jack's memory to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, or the donor's choice of charity.
