Mr. J. F. Wilkerson

J. F. Wilkerson, 89, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on December 15, 2014, at his residence.

Born February 4, 1925, in Commiskey, J. F. was the son of the late John and Clara Wilkerson. On October 20, 1962, he married Golda Hauersperger. She preceded him in death on March 20, 1998.

J. F. served in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1946. He worked for Hall Heating as a fabricator in the metal shop, and also worked for Farm Bureau Co-op. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He enjoyed working, Christmas lights, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Randy (LuAnn) Wilkerson of North Vernon; a daughter, Joyce Taskey Durham of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, Keith and Suzanne Durham, Krissy Ogden, and Gregory Wilkerson; and two great grandchildren, Katelyn and Klay Durham.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; daughter, Mary Young; and son, Paul Wilkerson.

Funeral Information

A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery at Four Corners, with Rev. Jerry Byrd officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
