Mrs. Irene Law

Irene Law, 87, of Paris Crossing, passed away at 2:11 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born in Valley View, KY on October 3, 1923, Irene was the daughter of Burril and Mollie Callahan Rhodus. She married Stanley H. Law on June 26, 1942. He preceded her in death.

Irene retired from U.S. Shoe Factory. She was a member of Coffee Creek Christian Church. She enjoyed quilting, and watching racing and basketball.
She is survived by three sons, Roger (Faye) Law and Tom (Sharon) Law of Commiskey, and Victor (Karleen) Law of North Vernon, seven grandchildren, Karen (Larry) Chilman, Kim (Jerry) Chilman, Clinton (Cindy) Law, Jason (Colleen) Law and Jarrod Law of Commiskey, Rob Everidge of Butlerville and Samantha Wendel of North Vernon. Also surviving are 10 great grandchildren, Logan, Bailee, Lauren, Luke and Linnea Chilman, Zane, Owen, Kade, Ellie, and Stuart Law and a special niece, Dorothy Boardman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Ethel Roberts, Dellaree Hendrix, Martha Lunsford and Pauline Short, and brothers, Charles Sowers and Robert Rhodus and a granddaughter Rebekah Law.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2010, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Interment will be at Vernon Cemetery.
