Mrs. Irene Chapman

October 22, 1921 - August 26, 2010

Irene Chapman, 88, of North Vernon passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Jennings Healthcare Center at 2:04 p.m.

Born October 22, 1921, in Hazard, KY she was the daughter of Troy Lewis and Lona Benton. She married Willie Chapman in 1945. He preceded her in death in December of 2007 .

Mrs. Chapman enjoyed being a mother and a grandmother, listening to country music, cooking and giving to others.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Perrigo of Lebanon TN, Shirley Ferguson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and Wanda Chapman of Doylestown, OH, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, James, Lester & Jack Lewis and two sisters, Helen Williams and Betty Steele.

Funeral Information

A funeral will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Bear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Estes officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Saturday. Burial will be at the Bear Creek Cemetery.
