Mrs. Ida Mae Samson

Ida Mae Samson, 53, of North Vernon, passed away on October 1, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born October 26, 1958, Ida was the daughter of MC and Mattie Marcum Spurlock. She married Donald Samson. He preceded her in death.

Ida enjoyed reading, old country music and watching television.

Ida is survived by her mother, Mattie Spurlock, of Butlerville; daughter, Angela Bozikis of Evansville; son, David Bohannan of Evansville; 6 sisters, Phoebe Findley and Matilda Spurlock of Seymour, Donna Garrett, Anna Proffitt, Sue Proffitt, and Mabel Sharp, all of North Vernon; brother, Marvin Proffitt of Louisville; and granddaughter, Addelain Mae Bozikis.

In addition to her husband, Ida was preceded in death by her father, MC; 6 brothers, Thomas, Howard, Silas and Jonathan Spurlock, Thurman and Johnny Proffitt; and sister, Elizabeth Spurlock.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
