Mr. Hervey Leon Born

Hervey Leon Born, 98, of North Vernon passed away at 12:25 pm on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Schneck Medical Center.

Born on February 2, 1912 in Fortville, Indiana. Hervey was the son of the late Fredrick and Francis Bacon Born. He later married Twylah Mars.

He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a "Master Journeyman" in the tool & die trade.

Hervey is survived by his daughters, Norma Stoner and Donna Randall both of North Vernon; six grandchildren, Melanie Stoner, Kim Stoner Wetzel, Marcy Clark, Lee Randall, Brian Stoner and David Randall; 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; four brothers, Lester, Fred, Cecil and John Born; two sisters Kate and Francis Born, and a grandchild, Lori Stoner.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Sweeney officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 pm on Wednesday and from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
