Obituary

Heidi Renay Johnson Doty, 53, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 11:50 p.m., on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at St. Vincent -Jennings Hospital.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Frank McGee will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Born on July 1, 1969, in Nashville, TN, Heidi was the loving daughter of Heathcliff N. Wells and Mary T. (Allen) Acton. She was united in marriage to Jerold Doty on February 1, 2023, in Las Vegas. He survives.

After graduating high school, Heidi served her country proudly in the United States Army. She was an ordained minister. Heidi loved fishing, crocheting, doing crafts, and especially going to yard sales with her mom. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Jerold Doty of Elizabethtown, Heidi is survived by her mother and stepfather, Mary Tommie (Ed) Acton of North Vernon; daughter, Lacey (Denny) Ellis of Butlerville; son, Chance Johnson of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Adalynn and Cole Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her father, Heathcliff Wells.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the donor's choice.
