Glenda M. Matern

Glenda M. Matern, 54, of North Vernon passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at her residence at 2:11 a.m.

Born February 4, 1956, in Seymour, she was the daughter of James H. Cox and Edyth Cheesebrew Stillwell. He preceded her in death.

Ms. Matern had worked for Lowe's Distribution for 16 years. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. She enjoyed outside activities, watching racing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother, Edyth Stillwell of Seymour; her sons, Mike Matern and Paul Matern both of North Vernon; a sister, Jackie Hardey of Seymour; grandmother, Mary Cheesebrew of North Vernon; 7 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, and a daughter, Stacy Dawn Matern.

Arrangements were made in care of Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home.

Funeral Information

Funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home with Father Jonathan Meyer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday. A Rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be at the St. Anne's Cemetery.
