Gerald "Jerry" Reid Russell, 64, of Seymour, passed away at 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Ira Scott will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service, at the funeral home.

Born on June 29, 1959, in Allen Park, MI, Jerry was the loving son of James Reid Russell and Necia Helen (Gearlds) Hammonds.

Jerry had worked for NAC Inc. as a team leader. He enjoyed being outdoors in the nature going hunting, fishing, hiking, and exploring caves. Jerry also had a love for cats. He most importantly cherished spending time with his family.

Left to cherish Jerry's memory is mother, Necia Helen Hammonds of North Vernon; daughter, Sheri Ann (Adam) Maschino of North Vernon; brother, James Allen Russell of North Vernon; grandchildren, Kali McCormick of Alaska, Katie and Jordan Koch of Reno, NV; great grandchild, Barrett Woodley.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Reid Russell; brother, Omer Wayne Caffee.
