George E. White

George E. White, 74, of North Vernon passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his home.

Born May 3, 1934 in Brown County, George was the son of Pete and Nettie Lucas White. He married Janet Hanson September 7, 1971. She survives.

He retired from the Golden Foundry and enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and watching wrestling on television.

George is survived by his wife, Janet White of North Vernon; daughter, Sandy Combs of North Vernon; two sisters, Sue Phillips of North Vernon, and Martha E. Mullis of Columbus, and one granddaughter, Tehona "Tia" Combs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Florence Graham, and Molly Mullis, and brothers, Jim and Melvin White.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Sawyer & Pickett Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Ramey officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
