Genalee Downs, 81, passed away on June 11, 2025, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Born March 4, 1944, in Defeated Creek, KY, Genalee was the daughter of Delmar and Elise Fields Sparkman. She married John W. Downs. He preceded her in death. She had worked at NAC, KFC, and Jay C Food Store in North Vernon before retiring in 2018. She really enjoyed reading and working puzzles. Genalee is survived by sons, Robert M. (Heather) Baber of Southport, IN, Christopher A. (Vicki) Baber of North Vernon, IN, and Chad W. Downs of North Vernon, IN; sisters, Kathy Bowman of Crothersville, IN, Juanita Alexander of Greenwood, IN, Elizabeth Foga of New Castle, IN; brothers,Terry Anderson of Hanover, IN, Allen Anderson of Franklin, IN, George Anderson of Osgood, IN; granddaughter, Autumn Baber of North Vernon, IN; grandsons, Blayne Downs of Edinburgh, IN, Jack Baber of Southport, IN; great-granddaughters, Hazel Napier and Violet Napier. Genalee is preceded in death by her parents, Delmar Sparkman and Elise Fields; husband, John W. Downs; brothers; Timothy Anderson, Ernest Anderson, and Michael Anderson.
