IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gabriel Jackson
Schmidlapp
November 21, 2004 – March 16, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Gabriel Jackson Schmidlapp, who left us on March 16, 2025, in a tragic automobile accident. Born on November 21, 2004, in Lexington, KY, Gabriel was a bright light in the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and passion for cars and animals.
Gabriel, known to his friends as "G," worked at Tire Discount in Madison, IN. He was well-respected in the car community and was the founder of 812 Cars and Bikes, creating spaces for enthusiasts to come together regardless of the type of ride they had. He loved spending time with his crew at Cars & Coffee and Lexington Car Culture, where he brought friends together to celebrate their shared love for vehicles.
Outside of work and car meets, Gabriel enjoyed fishing, skateboarding, and, most importantly, being around his friends. He had a unique ability to connect with others, always making sure to tell them he loved them. His enduring spirit shone brightly in all he did, and he will be deeply missed.
Gabriel is survived by his loving family, including his mother Vanasa Schmidlapp of Madison, IN; parent, Alice Campbell of Lexington, KY; grandparents, Dan & Barbara Campfield of North Vernon, IN, Keith Schmidlapp of Madison, IN, and Phyllis Campbell of Lexington, KY; aunts & uncles, Kimberly Barnett of Columbus, IN, Marie & Richard Fain of Stanton, KY, Jeff & Jenny Campbell of Lexington, KY, and Jennifer & Tom Breeden of Lexington, KY; cousins, Sheena Landis, Sophie Barrett, Sam Barrett, Abigail Schmidlapp, Conner Donnell, Syrus Donnell, Andrew Landis, and several cousins in Lexington, KY.
He was also a devoted friend to his dogs Nova and Amos, and his beloved cat, Salem.
A memorial car meet will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Moose Lodge in Madison, IN. Friends and fellow car enthusiasts are encouraged to join us in celebrating Gabriel's life and passion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to your favorite Humane Society or Animal Shelter, in Gabriel's honor.
The love and support shown by his friends during this difficult time is deeply appreciated by Gabriel's family. We invite everyone to share stories, laughter, and tears as we remember the incredible person that Gabriel Jackson Schmidlapp was.
