Mr. Frederick S. Geisler

August 13, 1925 - August 13, 2013

Frederick S. Geisler, 88, of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Silver Oaks Healthcare Center in Columbus.

Born August 13, 1925, in Hamilton, OH, Frederick was the son of the late Stanley and Velta Maddaford Geisler. He graduated from Ross High School in Ohio. He married Betty Lou Wenert on February 22, 1947. She passed away also on August 13, 2013.

Frederick was drafted out of high school into the United States Army. There he completed paratrooper training, just before WW II ended. He spent his enlisted time in the Philippines. He later worked as an auto mechanic and house painter. He retired from Wente Electric, where he wound electric motors. He was a member of IOK FourWheelers, and he enjoyed building and inventing better ways for things to be used, and driving his JEEP off road.

Survivors include a son, Stanley (Debby) Geisler of Hamilton, OH; a daughter, Debbie (Donald) Mullins of Paris Crossing; two granddaughters, Amber Geisler and Heather (Joshua) Sharp; grandson, James (Tonya) Geisler; three great granddaughters, Brinna, Clara and Ava Sharp; and one great grandson, Elias Sharp.

Funeral Information

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon. Interment will be at a later date at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made through the funeral home to the donor's choice of charity.
