Freda Louise Stark, 85, of North Vernon, passed away at10:02 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in the Rush Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service.

Born on December 1, 1935, in Ripley County, Freda was the loving daughter of Clarence and Faye Louise (Sammons) Stark. She was united in marriage to Edison Stark on January 21, 1954. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2002.

Freda was a member of the Butlerville Mennonite Church and was a devoted Christian. She loved the farm life and anything to do with being outdoors like gardening, deer and rabbit hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, trapping. Freda enjoyed decorating cakes, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family.

She is survived by son, Phillip E. Stark of North Vernon; daughter, Peggy (Greg) Harris of North Vernon; brother, Don Stark of North Vernon; sister, Judith Ann Deppe of Seymour; grandchildren, Sherri Scott, Chasity Barberis, Matthew Harris, Courtney Maschino, Dick Stark, Danny Stark, Pat Spurlock, Becky Coats, Angie Courter, Bob Stark Jr., and Nancy Stark; twenty one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Faye Stark; husband, Edison Stark; daughter, Katherine Burton; two great grandchildren.
