Mr. Franklin D. Foga

Franklin Delano "Red" Foga, 79, of North Vernon died at 9:40 P.M. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at his home following an extended illness.

Born November 9, 1932 in North Vernon, Mr. Foga was the son of Jacob and Sophia Arney Foga. He married Joann Mullins on July 31, 1955. She Survives.

Frank had been self-employed for most of his working years, however, he had also worked for the New York Central Railroad, Diekhoff & Vance, Inc., and the State of Indiana. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Foga was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and V.F.W. Post 2021. He enjoyed building bird houses, working on his truck, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Foga of North Vernon; son, Dale Foga of Cedar Grove, TN; daughters, Lois Frank and Rita Horn of North Vernon; sister, Lucy Carpenter of Seymour; eight grandchildren, Trent, Trevor, Sean, Kaylee and Michelle Foga, Trina Phelps, Brianna and Dorianna Horn; four great-grandchildren, Seairra Foga, Angel Rose Wood, Kaliah and Karson Branch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jacob Foga; five brothers, William Lewis, Leo, Henry, John, and George Foga; one sister, Bernice Clark.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
