Francis A. Stout, 98, of Commiskey, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his residence.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. The Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dupont Cemetery.

Born October 14, 1917, in Jefferson County, Francis was the son of Alfred and Mabel (Addleman) Stout. He graduated from Dupont High School. He married Charlotte Suhl on January 11, 1958, and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2014.

Francis served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Stewart – Warner, and had previously been employed at Ford Motor Co., and Roberts Milk Co. He was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed working outside and mowing grass.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia (Ray) Whitaker, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; wife, Charlotte; and five sisters, Mildred Henry, Marjorie "Sally" Rolley, Irma Ehler, Mabel Marie Fox and Winifred Ziegelbauer.
