Frances "Grandma Jack" Louise Jackson, 92 of North Vernon passed away at her home on Saturday morning, May 27, 2017.
A funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in North Vernon on Wednesday, May 31st at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ricky Persons officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Services and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Canaan, IN.
Born March 2, 1925 in Jefferson County, Frances was the daughter of the late Harley and Mary Frances Rea Lee. She was a graduate of Central High School in Jefferson County and later married Harry Bailey Jackson on September 4, 1943. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1991.
Frances was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Canaan and was currently attending Bethel Baptist Church in North Vernon. She enjoyed word puzzles, reading with the church book club, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Grandma Jack is survived by two daughters, Marianna Baird and Wanda James both of North Vernon, a son, Harry Lee (Brenda) Jackson of Madison, nine grandchildren, Carl (Elaine) Shepherd, Sherry (Mark) Lafferty, Sharon (Dorsey) Whicker, Jeff (Deanna) Jackson, Stacy (Chappy) Smock, Sam (Mary Beth) Jackson, Shane (Steve), Combest, Shad (Julie) James, Jesse (Alba) James, 22 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild, and a brother, Charles (Judy) Lee of Madison, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry, parents, Harley and Mary, a son, Richard Dean Jackson and a brother, Elmer Lee.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County or Bethel Baptist Church.
