Mr. Floyd L. Tungeitt

November 25, 1933 - January 17, 2014

Floyd L. Tungeitt, 80, of North Vernon passed away at 11:24 PM Friday, January 17, 2014, at Jennings Health Care Center.

Born in Jennings County November 25, 1933, Floyd was the son of Irvin and Josephine Ross Tungeitt. He married Marilyn Arney March 5, 1955. She preceded him in death.

He worked thirty four years before retiring in 1996 from Reliance Electric. He was a member of the Heartland Classic Antique Car Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting.

Mr. Tungeitt is survived by three sons, Donnie and Gary Tungeitt of North Vernon, and Dennis Tungeitt of Columbus; daughter, Carol Johnson of North Vernon; sister, Alberta Brown of IL; grandchildren Jeramiah, and Misty Johnson, and Gary Tungeitt; eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Ralph, James, and Charles Tungeitt; sisters, Ruth Sorell, Mary King, Ruby Buschell, and Helen Lawver; a grandson, Donald Tungeitt.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 AM at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. The Rev. Sherman Beville and Lendal Patterson will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of the service. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery.
