Florence Virginia Wickens

June 17, 1920 - December 13, 2014

Florence Virginia Wickens, 94, of North Vernon passed away at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.

Born June 17, 1920, Virginia was the daughter of James P. and Sarah M. McCann Wickens.

She retired from Arvin Industries, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and was active in St. Vincent DePaul Society. She was also a former member of the choir at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She liked singing, yodeling, and spending time with family.

Virginia is survived by two sisters; Theresa Bruns of Millhousen, and Mable Byers of Bedford, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Hugh, James, Phillip, and Daniel Wickens; sisters, Kate Daeger, Marjorie "Mert" Wickens, and Mary Louise Wickens.

Funeral Information

A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Rosary service will be conducted at 8:45 AM at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the funeral home.
